Fred A. Lopez, MD, FACP

Dr. Lopez is the Richard Vial Professor and Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Medicine at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He is also Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the LSU School of Medicine. A native of New Orleans, Dr. Lopez received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University in Stanford, CA and his medical degree from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and a graduate of the Honors Program. He then pursued postgraduate medical training at Stanford University where he was an intern, resident and chief resident in Internal Medicine and a fellow in Infectious Diseases. Board certified in both Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine, he joined the faculty at LSU in 1998.

He is on the editorial board of several journals and has written more than 100 journal articles, book chapters, and commentaries. He is co-editor of the textbook entitled, Infectious Diseases: Emergency Department Diagnosis & Management. A committed educator, Dr. Lopez is a founding member and Teaching Scholar in the LSUHSC Academy for the Advancement of Educational Scholarship. His teaching and mentoring efforts have been recognized at both Stanford University and the Louisiana State University School of Medicine.

Harold R. Neitzschman, MD, FACR, FACNM, FAAP

Dr. Neitzschman was named Chairman of Radiology at Tulane in December, 2005. He graduated AOA from LSU and is a Fellow of the American Board of Radiology, the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is the fellowship director of musculoskeletal radiology at LSU and at Tulane and has trained 14 fellows. He is a Board examiner in the nuclear medicine section of the American Board of Radiology and is on the ABR-SNM Certifying Development Team for the certifying examination. Dr Neitzschman has served on the APDR Education and ABR Committees, and is currently serving on the APDR Nuclear Medicine Program Directors Committee. He has been associate editor of the Radiology section of the Journal of the Louisiana State Medical Society since 1996. He continues to be active in the Louisiana Radiology Society as well as numerous national radiology organizations.
